Oh man, the Veilguard saga continues. Feelsbadman for anyone who was conned into buying it at retail. Marketing truly is a pox on our civilisation.
These days, never buy a game at launch. Give it several months at least, unless you’re damned sure what you’re getting is worth what you’re paying.
I kinda wish they would include everything that will be added, and not just the 3 that I don’t even know what makes them special (do they disappear if you don’t claim them?). They usually add a few other games twice a month beyond the 3 “monthly” games, but they never advertise what those are going to be.
There are different tiers:
- PS+ Essential Monthly Games: 3 games, announced on last Wednesday of Month, and released on next Tuesday (first Tuesday of next month). You have one month to add them to your library, and once added they will remain available to you, forever and ever (as long as you keep the subs).
- PS+ Games Catalog (only available to PS+ Extra and Premium members): Netflix like library of games, they can be removed at anytime, and once removed you can’t play them, even if you have downloaded them. IIRC they are announced on 2nd Wednesday of month, and released on 3rd Tuesday of month. I haven’t checked lately, but it has more than 500 or so games generally.
Damn, already… Veilguard is going that bad huh?
Metacritic user reviews are a 3.9
It was also review bombed by deranged people.
I played it through to the end. It wasn’t great, but it was a finished game that was pretty much entirely bug-free at launch. It had a couple exciting moments and a couple touching ones. Overall, it was a disappointing and bland follow-up to Inquisition, but it wasn’t a 3.9.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is totally unexpected.
