Schultz previously served as vice president of resources and government affairs at Idaho Forest Group, where he led timber procurement operations and managed relationships with government officials at all levels.
At this point I expect they’ll put a literal fox in charge of poultry plant inspections.
You know with this administration it can be hard to recognize all the different players so I have a rule of thumb I use.
If I recognize the name from previous GOP actions (especially the last Trump administration) then they’re someone who saw January 6th happen and are a huge enough asshole that they decided to come back.
If I don’t recognize the name from previous GOP actions then they’re someone who saw January 6th happen and are a giant enough asshole that they decided now was the time to join the administration.
That really helps me get a baseline read of the different administration officials.
“Together, Tom and the incredible employees at the Forest Service will work to execute the agenda of President Donald J. Trump to make America’s forests healthy and productive again.”
That choice of word does not inspire confidence.
It certainly does not, and their choice of “managed relationships with government officials at all levels” is a very eloquent way to say “timber lobbyist.”
It doesn’t matter what the orange butt plug does … he can never make most American timber better than Canadian timber.
Personally, I’m more concerned about reckless deforestation than lumber production.
