No, people with NPD have a tendency to minimise failures or project them onto others, rather than straightforwardly discussing them. Now obviously they’re fully capable of not indulging in those habits if they choose to, but then there’s nothing narcissistic in this discussion.

Shows what you know about NPD 😎

Not every narcissistic person has NPD.

Shows what you know about narcissism 😎

Though, admittedly, these people probably do have NPD.

Before narcissism was used by psychologists to describe a mental disorder, it was used by Greeks to vilify asexuals.

When you say narcissist, do you mean a neurodivergent or a queer person?

            Let me help you out:

Narcissism is extreme self-involvement to the degree that it makes a person ignore the needs of those around them. While everyone may show occasional narcissistic behavior, true narcissists frequently disregard others or their feelings. They also do not understand the effect that their behavior has on other people.

It’s important to note that narcissism is a trait, but it can also be a part of a larger personality disorder. Not every narcissist has narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), as narcissism is a spectrum. People who are at the highest end of the spectrum are those that are classified as NPD, but others, still with narcissistic traits, may fall on the lower end of the narcissistic spectrum.

how did she attempt to hide her username?

      Maliciously.

Kidding aside, she attempted to hide the picture, not the username itself. This in turn caused a Streisand effect that led to people easily tracking her down and doxxing her.

At least that’s how I understood it 🤷

It seems like by detaching her current username from it, the name that was originally on the post tagging her appeared as it did originally, anyways that is what it seems like to me. Nice try lol 😂

What kind of world do we live in when teacher assistants get fired for a Nazi salute done on their personal time?

      You’re Lemmy’s best troll.

If you want to make more people angry, I suggest you copy Dragon Rider’s strategy and use neopronouns. Lemmy users hate neopronouns.

the first amendment doesn’t protect you from being terminated, if your actions are likely to be disruptive to your place of work.

For example, by causing protests. or, for example, alienating your coworkers and students, creating a hostile work environment, etc.

The one in which she works with non-whites, non-christians that she has now caused conflict with.

What exactly does she say to her co-workers? “Please forget that I think you’re sub-human scum that should be exterminated”?

I get that sentiment but I would rather not have a Nazi teach their values to my kids. Nazis deserve an outcome that matches their shitty opinions.

If this is sarcasm I don’t find it funny. If someone thought you were serious you could reinforce that view in them, and this is obviously not okay to not just do but for a photo for social media it’s egregious. If you are being serious that feels like a bit of a “mask off” moment.

We have the freedom speech, but we don’t put it above all the other basic rights and thus, it has well defined boundaries.
Edit: Also freedom of speech often seems to be interpreted as freedom from opposition. Yet, telling someone they are a scumbag because they are repeating nazi ideology ist totally in accordance with that.

Also for whatever reason people seem to think freedom of speech is also freedom from consequences. Her freedom of speech was not infringed, she simply got fired because she decided to do a stupid thing in public.
