Israeli content creators have racked up hundreds of thousands of views in a recent viral trend on TikTok deriding the struggles of child victims of Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip.

The youths film themselves posing as representatives of a fictional humanitarian organisation and call their family members and friends to ask for donations for Palestinian children. Those called usually react with rage, shouting and swearing before the callers reveal themselves in the videos uploaded to the platform as humorous pranks.

In one video, shared with the text, “We pranked my father (an extreme right-winger), that we donate money for children in Gaza”, a soldier asks her father to donate to the children in Gaza because “they should also be taken care of”.

Her father responds: “Let them go to hell and everyone who contributes to them.” After he directs a stream of curses at the ‘representative’, she reveals her identity and laughs.

In another video posted last week, a young woman asks her mother to donate to “innocent children in Gaza”. Her mother responds: “Innocent Gazan children? There’s no such thing”. She then wishes the children in Gaza “death in agony, death in bad agony, in stoning, that they will burn in hell all the people there”.

Considering what happened LITERALLY LESS THAN A CENTURY AGO, you’d think that Israelis wouldn’t act like ACTUAL 21ST CENTURY NAZIS.

netenyahu’s parents were active nazi party members.

What. No? Neyhtahua is a monster but this is objectively false. His father immigrated to America long before Hitler came to power.

I only found one source which made this claim and it was an out and out white nationalist antisemitic blog filled with slurs. So many people speaking out against the ongoing Palestinian genocide are labeled as antisemitic when it’s the state of Israel at fault, not Jewish people. But you deeply feed into this narrative when you repeat factually inncorect neo nazi talking points.

The laughing is bad, but the prankees reactions have informational value: this is how a significant portion of the populace thinks about the conflict.

Done differently this could’ve been great investigative journalism: “of 100 randomly chosen numbers we called only 1 reacted positively” or so.

Seem? They’re filming this shit for no other reason than cruelty and online clout. It’s kicking people while they’re down. They’re actually worse than the Nazis now.

        I’m not disagreeing.

But I did have a thought. What if… what if… some of the kids actually aren’t doing it just for clout, but with the disguise of doing it “as a prank” and “for clout”, because teenagers are socially accepted to do shit like that. That’s a way for them to show the ignorance and hatred of their relatives or whoever with the guise of a prank.

I mean, I don’t belive most are. But I had a hopeful thought like that and I’d like to think maybe at least some…? but I haven’t really manage to convince myself so…
