I succeeded. Monday through Friday, baby! Levi’s 501s, light blue. 34" x 34". I want to thank my wife and coworkers for giving me the strength and fortitude to accomplish this goal. Stay dull, my friends!

I’ve asked ChatGPT and it told me that “men tend to wash their jeans every 4-10 wears” . OP got me scared there for a moment 😅

I mean, I’m not gonna get my pants significantly dirty by sitting on my ass in an air conditioned room. And when I get home, it’s sweatpants time. Sure if I make a stain or have to run and sweat in them I’ll change them earlier, but I usually wear the same pair for the entire work week.

It’s usually when they can stand by themselves that I decide they’re due.

No, no, I am kidding, however a week of normal office use, yeah, sure. I’d like them to die because of wear in the field, not in the washing machine.

I wear the same jeans pretty much until I spill something or otherwise get a visible mess on them. Then they go in the laundry and the backup pair becomes the main pair until it happens again. Sometime between 6 months and two years of life, a hole appears (location varies) which prompts me to order new jeans.

Mine split in the seam at the crotch typically. In the past I’d throw them out but lately I began taking them to a tailor who can fix it for $5-15 and give me a lot more life out of them!

Yea the crotch hole is a common location, and I’ve basically given up (never tried) fixing it, my jeans are cheap enough. I just turn them into rags or whatever

Ok, I’m wearing my jeans also until they’re visible dirty or I’ve had a day, where I’ve sweat into them quite much and they start to get smelly.

But you’re wearing a pair for months - without washing? Oo
Or was the washing in between an obvious thing, not worth to be mentioned?

I remember reading back in like 2015ish that the CEO of Levi’s never washes his jeans because the way the fabric is woven prevents stuff from building up? I’m not sure of the exact details, but I’ve claimed and spread this for about 10 years now so I should probably go verify it at some point lol

I wear black jeans so it’s hard to notice a visible mess unless it’s really caked on, and I hardly ever sweat in them. I haven’t washed my jeans in a very long time. I don’t wear them for work anymore though, which contributes to that

I very rarely “have a day”, I sit in an office chair all day and the climate around here never gets too hot or anything. I don’t know off the top of my head what an average might be, but for certain I’ve easily gone 6 weeks without washing them.

          I see.

I’m usually in my office at well - although that one is at home by now and sadly not climatised, but at least I don’t need to wear pants ;-)

But sometimes I need to go on site to a customer and then it can get dirty and hot…

Else, I’m with you, I don’t see the reason to wash stuff, that’s not dirty in my opinion, as well

Eh, depending on how many other pairs of pants they own, that could mean just wearing them a few times. I used to have enough clothing that I’d just wash it twice a year unless something gets extra dirty. Most of it is too baggy on me now, sadly, so I have to do the wash more often.

Agreed. I wear my pants until they’re dirty. At night, I hang them up somewhere with air movement. Spot clean any dirt or spills. I can usually get 4 to 6 weeks out of a single pair. It helps that I use a standing desk in my office, so I’m not just trapping humidity against a chair all day.

I did the same thing but didnt make a point of it or anything. That sounda like work. I just kept putting the same pair back on each day. Mostly because I actually dont know where the other pair of jeans that fits me got to.

It’s only 5, and assuming this is a desk job and not something where you actually get filthy and stinky, I don’t think it’s a big deal.

“raw” jeans should not be washed for the first year.

The good thing is that after a year, the jeans can walk to the laundromat themselves!
