God if this doesn’t summarize Bernie’s career in a nutshell; A viral empowering moment that feels amazing on first glance, but in reality it’s just a virtue signal. Absolutely nothing of consequence was accomplished, and absolutely nothing meaningful changes.
This man has been in Congress for longer than I have been alive. He’s had serious pull in the democratic party for almost a full decade now. At some point platitudes don’t cut it.
Sounds great, but sadly fascists don’t value words.
There is no chance in hell they’ll actually support it, because if they did they wouldn’t be Republican.
I want to know how we got here. Historically speaking, republicans and democrats were supposed to be two sides to the same coin. Republicans would have one set view on how to run things. Democrats would have a different set of ideas. Both would offer a set of bills and agenda on how to run the country, with the idea being their plans would benifit you, and the opposition showing how their plans would benefit you. Then you take a look at both sides and vote for the one you agree with most.
Somehow, we’ve arrived at a position where republicans are actively trying to hurt America. That’s what it is, I’m telling you. There’s no other way to describe this behavior. They legitimately want to hurt Americans.
And so you’d think that stratagy would instantly fail. All the democrats would have to do is be strong, and have the message “donald trump is trying to sell your country to russia.”
And your options would be
A) Destroy the country
B) Don’t destroy the country.
Except, these asshole democrats are almost as corrupt as the republicans. So you got republicans fighting with America, and democrats fighting with democrats. Nobodys left to fight the republicans.
So…how did we get to a point where roughly half of the citizens would rather pick A?
Because right now, the republicans entire party platform seems to be “Fuck America!” and their base just goes along with “YEAH! FUCK ME!”

People that voted for Trump think the Dems are and have been destroying America. The general perspective seems to be “the party I voted against is trying to destroy my country”. Propaganda and foreign interference has gotten America to this point. Poor education standards aren’t helping.
I mean, RFKjr just said that EVERYONE should get measles. It wouldn’t be as deadly as covid was, but it would still be a global pandemic where the hospitals are overflowing, morgues are overflowing, and I’m SURE there would be more anti-vacine rhetoric.
You’ve got 2 different government officials publically doing hitler salutes on television.
Now if I’m interpreting this wrong, PLEASE explain how. I’d LOVE to be wrong about the government suggesting we artifically start a new pandemic while also fast tracking the rise of nazi style fascism. Please, I want to be wrong, because that would mean no more nazis in our government.
Until then, I’ll remain confused and angry about the world.

Yeah, they’ll add dental, hearing and vision to Medicare, but in turn they’ll make sure it only covers like one guy. If this ever gets through (which it won’t) it’s going to be some real monkey’s paw type shit.
