I’ve done some progress on it and it’s now on Printables

I’m not expecting a whole lot of people to commit to building it but I would be deeply appreciative of anyone spending the time and money on it. I do expect some teething issues though but I’ll update the design along the way.

Open sourcing printers is important to me especially when at lot of manufacturers are moving towards proprietary designs

Looks cool! Designing my own printer has been on my practically infinite list of projects for a long time, so it’s nice to see you do yours.

I recently stumbled upon a video series you might enjoy about designing 3d printed parts creatively and with the full possibilities of 3d printed geometries in mind. Careful, it has rabbithole potential!

What a big coincidence! I’ve watched his video the other day and designed a corner bracket following his principles (not exactly to the letter) but will use it for my next printer design :D

The algorithm has put us in a group of similar interests I guess, haha! Your design looks very neat (and strong too)!

I’ll try to tackle this in September (currently I have my hands full with moving). Do all the printed parts fit on MINI bed, 180x180mm?

Awesome, good luck with moving! And yeah all the parts will fit with the exception of the PSU mount rail but I can make a version that would fit on a 180x180mm bed, same with the different control board mounts I’m designing

Thanks, hopefully this time it will stick longer than a year.

If you could design it that way, I would be really grateful, I feel like a 3D printer is not something you should just cut in the half and glue like I do with some other things that are too large for my print bed.

Yeah nothing mechanical here, just mounts which are quite variable due to a variety of mainboard/psu combo, no glue required!
