Almost 60% of Swiss voters have backed plans to severely cut emissions by 2050 despite opposition from the right-wing Swiss People's Party. In a second vote, 78.5% supported a minimum tax of 15% for multinational firms.

    This isn’t as great as it seems - the law isn’t that ambitious, and it’s only about incentives, no carbon tax or restrictive regulations - but it’s a good step forward.

      All we can do is keep pushing in the right direction. We’re constantly under threat of corporate actions that bypass or push against climate laws, so we have to make sure to constantly close loopholes and fight back against corporations. It’s a fight that can be won, don’t allow the corporate instilled apathy to make you think otherwise.

        It’s not just corporations, though. We need to push all stakeholders in the right direction: individuals, corporations, and politicians. Here in Switzerland, the typical individual is still very detached from the matter: driving huge SUVs, flying around even for a weekend, etc.
