The Pixel 8 will apparently have 128 and 256GB versions while for the Pixel 8 Pro there would be 128, 256 and 512GB models, basically the same storage options as we currently have for the 6 and 7 series.

Sounds good to me! I’m using about 70GB at the moment, I don’t see that increasing significantly.
Yeah it depends on the use-case (as an aside, a game like Genshin Impact will immediately eat up around 80GB of storage), but I guess the idea is that Google still wants to push Pixel users to buy a Google One subscription for more storage.
Reason being, as I understand it, is to undercut Apple and provide a slightly cheaper price point for a top tier phone.
On the other hand we all know Apple has the lockdown on global flash storage and has for decades.
