Carbon capture isnt a scam. Lots of living things are great at carbon capture.
DAC on the other hand, ehhh.
DAC is definitely a scam, but things like carbon offset forests are also kind of a scam. The incentive under capitalism is to plant an extremely closely spaced monoculture more vulnerable to pests and fire.
DAC is a fucking joke. With current tech, every DAC facility costs more CO2 to build and power than it remove from the atmosphere in its lifespan - every single one is a net negative for the environment. It’s pure grift - nothing but a giveaway to green capitalism.
You want to capture carbon? Plant biomass.
