And as always: vote with your wallet. Stay if you find the new price acceptable, cancel if you don’t. There are alternatives, both in streaming and on the High Seas.

I agree. But Disney has a near monopoly on quality kids content. We will probably just keep paying the Disney tax so our kids don’t revolt.

Try buying DVD-s of older shows. Or maybe foreign shows for example. I’m sure there is a great selection.

Lower prices had kept many people on land but didn’t make them burn their boats. I predict a lot of sea shantys being sung!

I’ve taken it to the seas whenever a service isn’t available in my region, but if they start to price gauge on top of that, I’ll exclusively taste the salt water. This is the way.

They’re moving from cheap prices and lots of shows to higher prices and fewer shows.

I feel like this was the plan all along.

I’m in my 40s and I’ve been pirating since the 90s.

Aren’t some of them just learning to type on an actual keyboard? I thought I read they’re a very mobile-first or mobile-only generation. I think it was in the context of the video game market, indie games, and mobile games.

Lo and behold, the sight of black flags, many of which emblazoned with assortments of ordered ghastly skeletal figures and formations, being hoisted on the masts once more as they dance to and fro with the misty spray of water. The wind bellows, tugging on the many sails, as if beckoning those ships to sail unto the seven seas. They call to those weary enough of the oppressive laws of land as gusts whistle lustfully in their ears.

(Don’t ask why I did this, I just felt like writing it for some reason)

D+ on Turkey is in trouble due to cancellation of Ataturk biographical series. Nothing has happened yet but the government is “investigating the situation”.

I suppose the Amex Blue Cash Preferred discount will still only be $7/mo?

Still worth it (with the discount, since I use the card for groceries anyway), especially with two small kids and a Futurama reboot.

This is the streaming service I use the most and always thought it was cheap considering what was included in the price.

4k, no ads, the ability to download shows, can watch on up to 10 devices. It was never going to stay that cheap forever, sadly. Still a better deal than the top Netflix tier.

Wtf they just raised the price last November by a lot too. I bought a 1 year plan locked in at the old rate before it did and it’s the only streaming service I’ve had this past year.

Hulu was the last streaming service I dropped recently, looks like at the right time.

My Plex server is getting mighty full at this point though, time for more drives.
