I’d like to take my RSS feeds from an aggregator of news to a curated selection of interesting things. Interesting newsletters and blogs are where I think RSS shines, but I struggle to find this content.

What do you do to find these kinds of RSS feeds?

It might help to post what kinds of things you’re interested in so people can give you more specific suggestions.

I struggle a bit with this too! I think one thing to keep in mind is that RSS / Atom feeds are actually super common, so just keep an eye out. Pretty much every blog will have an RSS feed and you can still get RSS feeds for YouTube channels. There’s lots of feeds that are amalgamations of other feeds… A lot of them are named “planet <thing>”, I think because of this piece of software https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planet_(software)

    E.g.,

You can probably find something in your area of interest.

Are there still any usable feed readers left?

If you happen to be using macOS and/or iOS, there’s the awesome FOSS NetNewsWire!

Online apps work okay these days. Inoreader is pretty decent, and no need usually to pay for a premium subscription.

I love this, and it definitely helps.

As a side note, I ask because I’m tired of sifting through waste-of-time barely useful content on the internet. Interesting people who care about something are certainly worth my time.
