Not sure if this is a duplicate, apologies if it is, but one thing I really appreciated about Apollo was that when I blocked a subreddit, it immediately was removed from my feed, and I also was not set back to the top of /all. Not sure how annoying this would be to implement, since it would probably require refreshing the feed with the new block in place and finding the right “scroll depth” to jump back to after.
Mostly I just want all of the random porn and things in a language I don’t speak that I’ve blocked to get removed immediately (especially the porn ones, since the bots seem to spam those communities, so I’m more likely to run into a few posts in a row).
To be clear, I know I can block NSFW posts, but I don’t want to do that. I don’t mind seeing some nudes or whatever as I scroll, but when I run into a series of yiff or whatever from a niche community that I’m not into, and I block it, I don’t want to see it anymore, not have to rage scroll to get past it
Follow up thought as I scrolled, once the ability to block an entire instance is released, it would be nice if the same thing happened if I blocked that instance (e.g. I have nothing against Germany, but I don’t speak German and having posts from the German instance is literally just spam on my feed)
It has instance blocks. But it keeps deleting mine.
Wait really? How have I missed this? I’ll have to comb the settings when I sober up
It’s in the TestFlight.
Ah, that’s why, I’m just a boring casual on the public releases
When I block an instance it still shows posts from that instance for the remainder of my time scrolling. Seems to require me to leave the app for some unknown period of time for the block to kick in.
Scroll to the top and refresh.
Goddammit, I just realized this says fewture request. That’s what I get for posting while drinking…
You should be able to edit the title.
I poked around for a minute, but didn’t see it. Tbh, I’m on vacation and out exploring the local bars, so it wasn’t a priority, just as smidge of shame when I noticed, but thanks for the heads up
