For some bizarre reason, the algorithm behind the adverts on Tinder has decided that what I need in my life is a 135 hp, 13 ton tractor.
I have absolutely no need for this, it would barely fit on my section, and I certainly don’t need it for work.
This is the only advert I’ve seen for weeks on Tinder.
Ad-tech is shit, absolute 100% shit.
How many times have you been sent ads for stuff you just purchased.
- No amazon, I don’t need a second laptop this week.
- Hey look you just got a case for your new phone, how about I send you ads for cases for your phone, or another phone…for the next few months…perhaps you need a new iPhone to go with the case we are trying to sell you, you don’t have an iPhone but that doesn’t matter.
- And the “people who got X also got Y” it is in no way related to X but hey that doesn’t matter.
I can see how those would happen, I just want to know what caused this to be recommended.
I’m now getting ads for children’s clothing instead.
Clearly the algorithm thinks you are an outdoors type of person who drags kids around behind your tractor.
You think I’ll be recommended a toboggan next?
Or a children’s coffin
That would actually make a decent toboggan.
How else you gonna pick up chicks?
There’s probably a reasonable number of women this would actually impress, come to think of it.
Not bad.
