Has anyone else ran across this? Every time I close a game and try to go back to the home page, I just get a blank, black screen. It’s still on, and I can move the mouse cursor and see it, but everything else is basically frozen. No steam menu or system menu will pop up, only the cursor.
Yes but it depends on the game. Steam will often tell you in the steam deck compatibility area of a particular game, that the game may not close gracefully and that you might have to crash it. It can also happen with non-steam like games installed via Lutris or something from the Epic games library.
There have been a few occasions when I’ve had to use the power button to reboot in order to recover from a crash.
You can also try to force stop the game by holding down STEAM + B. Suspend and wake can fix it too sometimes, if the quick menus appear but not the main UI. Just some things to try before forcing it to reboot.

One of my Decky plugins was causing this to happen regularly on mine, and not with any specific game
This was the problem! Updating the plugins fixed it.
