This is the greatest witch hunt in history. Alls she did was send him an honest letter. How was she to know it was poisonous? Its the responsibility of everyone to be careful of poison. They are trying to politicize and weaponize the mail!

In terms of letters, it was a perfect letter! Perfect!

I hadn’t heard about this before. I have to say, I’m sympathetic to her frustrations but perhaps going full unibomber wasn’t the wisest path.

Their politics makes its way up here, so when a fascist leader rises, bringing with him anti-blackness, and anti-LGBTQ+ perspectives, it leads to a rise in that disgusting hate in Canada too. We can see that in our Conservative Party having become much more radically anti-human than they were 5 or 10 years ago; electing Skippy as their leader, who was groomed to be a neo-fascist by Harper himself.

While i somewhat agree and understand your point.

I’m mainly referencing an observation of mine on the odd hyper focus on US politics amongst older folk, when youd imagine there’d be more of a focus on internal political issues, like of what you mentioned.

Historically the Conservative Party was left of the Democrats. Now they are Republicans and the Libs are as right as the Democrats

Is you’re referring to the US party switch, you’re being awfully confusing about it.

(For those that don’t know, the Republicans used to be the left and Democrats used to be the right. They switched in the 60s.)

Free speech includes letters! The greatest injustice to anyone ever. Everyone knows she’s innocent. It’s the corrupt media!

Honestly, I hope she sees the errors of her way.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

A Quebec woman has been sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison after sending a poison-laced letter to former United States president Donald Trump.

Pascale Ferrier, 56, agreed to the sentence as part of a plea agreement back in January, but D.C. district court Judge Dabney Friedrich didn’t sign off until today.

The French-born Ferrier pleaded guilty to a total of nine biological weapons charges, each of which carries a potential maximum sentence of life in prison.

She was arrested at the Canada-U.S. border in September 2020 and charged with sending Trump a threatening letter laced with the homemade poison ricin.

The letter, intercepted two months before the 2020 presidential election, described Trump as an “ugly tyrant clown” and urged him to give up the race.

Eight of the nine charges are tied to an indictment in Texas, where Ferrier was accused of sending similar letters to police and prison officials.

    I’m a bot and I’m open source!
