iPhones have 17 steps, or 16 blocks to get to full volume. I don’t know how exactly, but it doesn’t scale linearly as our ears hear volume logarithmically.
So maybe it’s linear within DbA?
it takes my iphone 16 clicks to fill the volume bar so i am making an educated guess that it isn’t 10% per click.
So 6.25%?
after playing with a tone generator (phyphox) i’m not at all certain it’s a linear increase. I hear no sound until the fifth or sixth click but the difference in the last couple clicks is very noticeable.
Isnt that a thing about decibal increases, like an increase in 1dB is literally double, something something logarathmic
oh i don’t know at all i’m just trying to help you solve your question by providing data from my iphone 🤷🏼♀️
It’s whatever.
