Edit: you would have to be a complete fucking moron to think that that was a serious comment.

are you unable to process the concept that a mod of one community is not the same entity as the entire instance where that community is hosted?

To answer your question, yes. Hacking isn’t simply cracking, it’s any unauthorized or alternative use.

    bullshit

sdf is just a bunch of tech nerds. idk marsza if it’s misinformation in the news community, you should expect to be moderated if you’re posting shitposts.

as for Russian and MAGA, you are acting more like that then the proof you provide

Which was painfully obvious for anyone with at least half of a brain.

I probably wouldn’t make that kind of judgment about moderator based on post/comment history. I would definitely not make that kind of judgment about the entire instance. That mod should have listed it in the rules if unsubstantiated speculation is forbidden but there are no rules listed so I lean toward CLM. Liberals are easily triggered these days.

I know there was some claims that DOGE sent information to some servers in Russia, but that’s also unsubstantiated, if I remember correctly. So technically, the mod is correct. And since it’s a news community, it makes sense they wouldn’t allow gossip, in order to combat misinformation.

That being said, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it was true.

The joke is on you on this occasion, because the mod of that community is an absurdist who bans people for nonsensical reasons all the time. So maybe have a laugh about it and move on, since you met a fellow comedian. I mean technically it’s a PTB situation but it’s also quite funny once you stop expecting the community to be serious.

You would thing since news@ is a pretty important community name, the admins would discourage that behavior. I guess that instance is to be avoided.

Just saw that the mods at [email protected] had banned all commenters for a variety of flimsy reasons:

This is the most eggregious one I saw. The ban I received was for “unattributed quote” when literally I just read an article and posted my thoughts on it. There was nothing in the rules about commenting your own thoughts on articles. I think OP, @marsza@[email protected] is right to call this out.

PTB. I don’t know the full story, but I think it’s a decent joke and I don’t know why you were banned for it.

On the other hand… I don’t know why this makes the mod into a simp for russia/maga. The joke doesn’t seem like a strong attack on russia/maga. More like making fun of the security of the federal injustice system.
