Quote from announcement post:

Morning all,
As the July deadline approaches I’ve been considering working on Sync for Lemmy.
So I thought I’d start by trying to gauge interest and start a general discussion.
Cheers,
Ljdawson

Update #1 from u/ljdawson:

Ok looks like this is happening.
Time for a new subreddit here, more to follow on Lemmy shortly:
https://reddit.com/r/SyncforLemmy

Update #2 from u/ljdawson with an official lemmy community:

https://lemmy.world/c/syncforlemmy …?

Yup that was me earlier!

Sync is soooo aesthetically pleasing. (I’m a sucker for full MaterialYou implementation) I’d love it if I could continue using it on Lemmy, and would happily pay a second time.

Imagine the smoothness of Sync for Reddit while surfing through the Fediverse… Not my proudest bonner.

In some ways Lemmy can be slow, but for me some actions have been a lot faster here than on Reddit.

Material design is one of the main things I think about when looking for an app

Absolutely! I’ve used it for a very long time and I’ll happily pay again.

I’m stoked as hell, Sync was my reddit app of choice. I bought Pro, Dev, and Ultra throughout the years, just to support Lawrence.

Does Sync have a Lemmy presence? I can’t check the subreddit since I don’t have the reddit app. 😑

Great to see another app for this part of fediverse.

A humble request, great to see people willing to buy the app to support the developer. The request is to direct a similar support to the developers of lemmy. Every dollar counts.

No shade to anyone who can’t donate, those who can please consider this request.

Sadly, rmayayo has said that he will not be working on a boost app for lemmy:

Oh man, if he makes boost for lemmy it will really complete the package for me.

Jerboa is pretty dog crap, so having Sync or Apollo switch to supporting Lemmy, Tildes, Kbin, etc would be great.

Disagree, Jerboa is actually pretty damn good. Some QOL updates are needed sure, but over all it’s good.

Sync was my weapon of choice for Reddit. I will be so happy if ljdawson develops it for Lemmy!

This the one issue I have with Lemmy, which one is the right one?

In my view this is hardly different than someone making r/LemmySyncApp when the official is r/SyncForLemmy. You just have to check both and see who the mods are and whether they have official looking pinned posts. There’s no silver bullet - it ties into the larger digital identity and authenticity problems that people have been trying to solve for online identities since forever.

The more the merrier, but I’ll only use open source apps on my device.
