      I think some people get annoyed by what they feel is anti-car pontification in the same way people get pissy with vegans. I don’t agree with that notion, but people often get defensive when they feel their lifestyle is being attacked.

        I think it’s more with how theoretical this is. Lots of people have a car because they need one. For them it’s a big sacrifice for a little bit of satisfaction and not worth it. So if you’re one of them, this just adds insult to injury - knowing just stresses them out and they can’t even really change that.
