Sorry for the shitty article. It’s the only one I found.

It sucks that the libertarian party are just… Not about libertarianism. Can we change their name? Or something?

I need a name for myself when I simply don’t care what the fuck you’re doing as long as it’s not hurting other people. The dictionary says Libertarian. But Libertarians give SO MANY fucks about what people are doing, even when it is absolutely none of their business.

Does no one else find this maddening?

Libertarians have always been right leaning people in sheep’s clothing. Entitled people who think laws don’t apply to them and apply to everyone else. Have heard this sentiment for decades directly from Libertarians. The entire concept is shallow thinking, disregarding science and human nature. What Libertarians are missing is empathy and the social contract of humanity.

Libertarian = self serving narcissist that lacks empathy.

Not really. Granted its never been a workable system but much like the republicans they adhered more to their core philosophy in the late 80’s

I agree with that. In the last 2 decades libertarian has turned into republicunt with out the name.

The only people that I have met in the last 2 decades that claim to be libertarians are white men in the tech industry. Half of them since 2016 turned full Maga

Yeah and even back then it did not work at the extreme level they would take it to. Yeah legalization of victimless crimes and citizens income was fine but then like privatization of roads and such it just falls apart.

Pull on the other one. A libertarian is just a Republican trying to sleep with a Democrat.

I know. That’s not what the word means, though.

Dictionary and functional meaning are very different. Once you start drilling into their ideology it is just replicunts without wanting to take the name.

I disagree, etymology matters. We shouldn’t allow scoundrels to misappropriate vocabulary.

I try to do my part by saying Im a Leftist Libertarian, even though Im a pretty mixed bag of leftist beliefs. I could use to get some factoids about the origins of the left libertarian party to inform people with.

to be clear, right wing libertarians stole the name. Which is a very common right-wing tactic and something we will keep coming across!

Yeah that’s my beef here. I would say the same, but the “libertarian” part still feels like I need to clarify.

        “Not like rand Paul, fuck.”

And oh, I don’t think they’re shy about hiding it. Pro life, sure. Pro death penalty, hm.

I don’t know one word but you could say “I believe in the freedom of the individual”. Also heard people say “socially libertarian”. Which I lean towards as well, but only for individuals.

CFATS is important and should be renewed, but the wheels haven’t fallen off… Yet. Most companies/ facilities expect it to be renewed and so are continuing their programs. The real issues will pop up in 12+ months if it’s still not renewed then.

    Edit: typos & missing word

This article is a double edged sword. On the one hand we need awareness of how fucked up things are, but on the other we’re advertising an easy target right when Trump is being arrested.
