I’ve always searched for a pen that has the right feel, writes nicely, and has an ink color that is perfect. Fountain pens offer all this.
I’ve got pens from really cheap ones up to a nice retractable pilot. Every pen has it’s advantages and quirks. My favorite changes from day to day.

Current favorite ink: Noodler’s Black Widow
I’m on a rollerball kick as of late, but used fountain pens to correct my tendency to deathgrip and mash writing implements into the table. The Lamy Safari is my go-to — a solid and inexpensive fountain pen for everyday notes and writing.

I actually hold my pen/pencils incorrectly. The way that I hold it is actually the proper angle for fountain pens, whereas it’s wrong for most other pens. That and a habit of taking detailed notes and practicing handwriting has driven me into obsession.
