Filmmaker Rushabh Patel will debut his horror comedy I Know Exactly How You Die at Dances With Films NYC, where the film will have its world premiere on January 17, 2026. The screening will take place at Regal Union Square as part of the festival’s New York lineup.

Patel stars as Rian Burman, a struggling horror novelist battling writer’s block who retreats to a remote motel to finish his latest book. His story follows Katie, a drug counselor attempting to escape a violent stalker. As Rian writes, the events on the page begin to align with real-world incidents, blurring the line between fiction and reality. Unbeknownst to Rian at first, a real woman named Katie is staying at the same motel, hiding from a former mailman turned serial killer. When their paths cross, it becomes clear that Rian’s manuscript may be driving the violent events around them. As the situation escalates, Rian is forced to confront the possibility that his creative process is directly tied to the danger unfolding.
