Donald Trump is a symptom, not the problem. About half of US citizens voted for that clown. Twice! Unless people fight for change - away from the two party system, you will always have the situation that people vote “for their team” like it’s some kind of sport. People are emotionally attached to their team (both sides).

Even better idea than voting would be Lottocracy, but that’s very hard to implement because a government would have to make laws that would make most politicians obsolete.

You’re not all that familiar with our structure, huh?

Legally, Congress has to do the removal & they’ve already proven they won’t - be it due to fear of Trump & MAGA’s wrath, and/or their insanely wealthy benefactors preventing it. As such, the only legal option the population has is to wait for the next election, building up all the opposition they can in the meantime - which is basically what’s currently happening via protests & such.

With Trump having replaced virtually everybody he can that might resist him, he’s already demonstrated that he has the power to order both military and ICE thugs to attack Americans, and they will do his bidding (the military will be lied to like everybody else to justify such actions to those queasy & the truth won’t be known until it’s too late - the AI bros will gladly help fabricate “evidence”). Even without that, we have such extensive surveillance (including methods yet to be discovered, I’m sure) that successfully forming any kind of militia that can actually accomplish much is pretty slim - particularly when you consider that the majority of gun-toting types are also MAGAts. So, the “illegal” option is kinda pointless - particularly against the overwhelmingly powerful military machine (where many of the one-percenters backing all this got their money, so it’s excessively overdone to their benefit, of course).

Yes, Americans could be doing more, and many are instead escaping by distracting themselves with social media and whatnot (“entertain the brutes”), but we haven’t exhausted the legal option yet so until we do I think it’s understandable many are opting not to face the violence path until they have no other choice. Even then, the odds of success are slim if the powers that be choose force themselves. Nobody sane wants a civil war, and the insane ones who do are pretty much exclusively on the side with virtually all the power (stolen through deception, in many cases).

If the next two forthcoming major elections prove to be a sham, then you may see the action (and likely bloodshed) you’re looking for. I think most of us on the side of sanity are hoping we can avoid that.

(and likely bloodshed) you’re looking for.

That is not the action that I suggested or even implied.

Legally, Congress has to do the removal & they’ve already proven they won’t

The public (in large organized groups) needs to put enough pressure (and ongoing pressure) on them to overcome the other pressures they are facing.

I wasn’t saying you were looking for bloodshed, just action - which is why the bloodshed part was in parentheses. Your choice of edit sure made it look that way, however. Kinda manipulative, IMHO.

The public (in large organized groups) needs to put enough pressure (and ongoing pressure) on them to overcome the other pressures they are facing.

DUH. How daft do you think I am? The problem is they already have that pressure… from the mindless asshole morons on the other side, who are FAR more of a single mindset (i.e. mob mentality) than those who are more rational. At best, we cancel each other out, and that still leaves the oligarchs pulling Congress’ collective strings to the same basic effect.

You obviously don’t fully understand the realities over in this shithole, so until you do maybe stop telling us what to do like we’re too stupid to know. Those of us who would listen to your opinion are NOT the ones behind this mess.

Plenty of people have protested, but it doesn’t matter to those in a position to actually effect his removal because they’re owned already. The one-percenters have more than enough power, hired willing thugs, and control to withstand even direct attacks on their person. The mask of civility is gone, and they’re making sure we know.

Republicans have taken control of every branch of the American government through duplicitous methods - most importantly the Supreme Court. If Trump dies tomorrow, Vance takes his place and is even more effective of a lap dog for the Heritage Foundation (who planned all this) because he’s better behaved, while Trump’s randomness has sometimes thrown wrenches into the works. Believe it or not, I fear Vance as president more than Trump because he will do exactly as he is told.
