It looks like the drones just hit the armor - would they do any damage if they didn’t actually fly into an open hatch?
These FPV drones are carrying RPG warheads. They can do plenty of damage without any hatches being open.
Perhaps, but can you really say if it was a mobility kill based on this clip?
Considering the tank’s engine bay is on fire after the 2nd hit, it certainly isn’t driving out of there on its own power.
Pretty much impossible to tell based on this short video but the fact that the driver isn’t hauling ass out of there after the first hit is a good indicator that it’s either disabled or has already been abandoned from the beginning. Maybe it ran over a mine or something.
I imagine it doesn’t need to be completodestroyed, just unusable anymore. They hit the side, so I imagine the wheels being complete toast, so it’s not going anywhere anymore. And since it is burning quite fiercely, I imagine there is lots of stuff not functioning any longer.
I’m also no expert but I imagine the idea here is to disable the vehicle such that it requires towing. If they try to tow it, the Ukrainians take out the towing vehicle when it arrives and now there are two vehicles that need towing. Repeat until the Russians give up on towing it.
