45% of 4 year old Tesla model Y fail the biannual mandatory safety check that starts at the fourth year of the car.
This is without comparison the worst result for any car model I’ve ever heard of. And it beats the previous worst result which was for Tesla Model 3 that had a failure rate of 34%.
For comparison the average is 7%, and a car somewhat similar to the model Y in size and price like the VW ID.4 has less than 2% failure rate!

PS:
I personally bought the ID.4 recently, and although I would never dream of buying an American car today, I am very happy that the car I bought is doing so well. Thumbs up to VW. 👍
