A few highlights:
-
There is a radio station in certain areas (probably the main cities)
-
No ground vehicles
-
Fully scanning/researching a planet nets money
-
10% of planets have life
-
Stolen ships are fully upgradable, but require registration which costs money
-
Both in-depth ship building and outpost building are for late game; ship upgrades can be done any time, but the in-depth builder is much more expensive
-
The inside of your ship is customizable and reflects the outside/modules you use
Oh wow, I didn’t expect the man himself to be joining the podcast
Nice info here. Todd also said something to the effect of him being there to manage expectations. Wise move imo.
Thank you for sharing and for extracting the highlights, these are really interesting features and I’m looking forward to experimenting them. The fact that the customisation and building is for later in the game makes me think it won’t be as forced as the settlements in Fallout 4 which were devisive, and I think it’s really promising!
I wonder if vehicles will arrive in a later DLC, kinda like how they appeared in NMS. I suspect a modded solution will be a little hard to pull off convincingly.
That was my first thought when I didn’t see any vehicles in the longer Bethesda overview of the game. A game so large it would easily support vehicles and vehicle bays for bases & starships. I wonder if we’ll see smaller space vehicles like little explorer, mining, combat, or boarding pods.
Honestly cannot wait for this game!!
