I feel like it falls short. The kid should be the king and Arnold should be the queen. That would make more sense imo.

I didn’t make this, but it made sense to me when I pictured the endgame scenario of a king escorting a pawn all the way to promotion.

It depends on whose turn it is. If it’s black’s turn in this position, white will win. If it’s white’s turn, I believe it’s a draw.

Cool, that’s what I thought. I know the “opposition” rule of thumb and can visualize the win for white, but I always have trouble visualizing the defending king’s stall.

Nope, king escorts pawn across the board, pawn gets promoted to queen, king and queen work together to get checkmate.

The only danger of stalemate is after the pawn gets promoted, and even then it’s easy to avoid if you know what you’re doing

Queen and pawn maybe? I just don’t associate the speed/range of a motorcycle/shotgun with a king. Protection until promotion makes a lot of sense though. That being said, it’s just a meme, I feel like I’m being overly critical here. Thanks for sharing!

I think most higher skilled chess players end up using their queen offensively, at least that’s what I’ve seen.

Meh, I think this is pretty OK. Queen endgames aren’t that common, right? Many people even refer to Queen-less middlegames as endgames.

I do get what you mean, though.

In the end game the king becomes one of the most powerful pieces and if you can get the pawn across you get a new piece so it is invaluable to protect them, the queen is powerful that is true but they have often been regicided, that is the exact point this meme is trying to make.
