I don’t understand the Seaport District. It was just built out in recent times, when the effects of climate change were well known. I swear I even remember Boston Globe articles about designing for climate change.
How is this already one of our most at risk parts of the city? How was it not built out to handle what everyone knew to expect? How did we fail so miserably to account for near term reality?
I think they built it in anticipation of about 3 feet of sea level rise. The problem is that we’re likely in for a lot more than that, even though it’s going to take a long time to actually happen
I have no apptettie to bail out all the idiots all over Plum Island and Cape Cod who insisted on investing on super expensive ocean side sand instead of something practical. I went way out of my way to ensure my property isnt near any body of water that could flood and I’m on the high ground.
