The new UI with the parent-child replies is so confusing. It used to be more clear when the child lines stopped when a new child reply dropped. The reply lines are now a mess. Please do something about this.

I actually like it, it makes the level of nesting more clear, IMO ofc.

The old UI used to be where one line stopped when a new child reply dropped, so the lines weren’t sorted to each other.

Looks very good, like my setting in Boost. One can follow the line now to easily find the parent comment, what’s bad about that? Also slightly more accessible for colour-blind people.
… The horizontal line on top of every comment could be a bit more pronounced perhaps. But yeah…

Actually I prefer it, I added some css to make it behave like this when it still worked the “old” way:

On a desktop, I used Stylus (FF) to indent child replies by 1.5em. As a person totally new to lemmy, that helped me navigate more easily and on a laptop, I have the horizontal space to spare.

Looks like Stylus isn’t available for FF/Android yet so I guess I’ll have to go the more circuitous route with Tampermonkey or something when I get there.
