To the Perchance developers:
The IP overlap issue still exists and is causing significant problems.
When banning a suspected ban evader, it takes me 10 seconds to 1 minute. However, when an innocent user is accidentally caught in the IP conflict, it takes 10–30 minutes to investigate and unlock them — and I cannot even do this from mobile.
Worse, to bail the innocent out I always have to unban the original troll, resulting in double loss. It’s not catching more it’s losing gain.
Beyond the time cost, this damages platform reputation and perceived fairness. Innocent users may not even realize they were blocked due to IP conflict rather than wrongdoing. Because they did exactly nothing wrong so they will not be on the record.
From observation, innocent users appear to be affected more frequently than actual evaders. Even if some evaders are caught, the false-positive rate feels too high — possibly 50/50 or worse.
While hardcore trolls may evade bans, we already have other moderation methods to deal with them. The current IP-sticking approach feels excessive and may be causing more harm than benefit.
Please consider reviewing or adjusting this system.
