Like I get what the message is and all that, I’ve heard the whole Lux album and have context and all.

But the song itself is bad - precisely because so much of it is good. It does some new things with classic styles. She’s a talented singer.

But the ending is like finding a turd in a wonderful cake you were eating.

I get that’s probably “the point” with the build up, but there were better ways to convey the message. Other songs earlier and later in the album masterfully mix in the discord and show things are wrong without just breaking the song up completely. Heck even having the stupid “I’ll fuck you until you love me” be in Spanish or Italian would have been better than having it in English, for the purposes of flow while still causing a break.

It detracts from everything else the song did great, on a technical level, and ends up feeling like a “couldn’t think of a better way to make the point so here’s a couple f bombs”.

If the rest of the song was bad or mediocre it wouldn’t have been as bad, but having it in makes it terrible.

At least it’s nothing I couldn’t fix in audacity.
