I didn’t really intend to get into moderating communities here, much like I imagine many others didn’t, but since I’m doing so, I can’t help noticing the mod tools are pretty basic.

Some improvements I think I’d like would probably be:

  • View modlog by community, so when you click the modlog at the bottom of a community’s sidebar, it filters down to that community.
  • An option to review a moderated post’s contents without having to go to the modlog. This would be really useful in moderation teams to see why your teammates removed/moderated a post/comment.
  • A separate suspend option for misconduct that’s not outright banworthy. I’ve seen some bans in modlog that suggest it may be used like suspending, but that’s not really intuitive imo.
  • Multiple post/comment selection. Right now this is pretty low priority, but if ever waves of spam come up, this would be pretty critical to clearing out spam.

These are just a few that come to mind. What are some others you’ve had occur to you?

i would apreciate the ability to more easily see the mod tools and use them.

I wasn’t spamming. I reported someone that was spamming my post. @andobando was the one spamming my post.

edit: I guess since m3t00 blocked me he won’t see my reply. Could anyone reach out to him for me?

I don’t want to be blocked from !cat.

No worries. I’m just glad it got resolved.

This is kind of worked out as a perfect example for why the mod tools need improving.

It’d be nice if there’s a warning/strike system. I don’t want to ban a user from minor issues, but if it happens multiple times then they should be banned.

At least a means of tracking users and maybe notes for the other moderators.

Is there a way to pin a comment on a post? I haven’t found that ability yet. If it’s not, that would be functional I think. I know how to pin a post to a community, but I can’t figure out how to pin a comment to the top of a post’s comment section

search in modlog barely works sometimes. Ctrl-f (browser find) works better for me

Is seeing our community subbed user list allowable? I think it would be useful but understand if it’s not in line with the server policy.
