The US is recklessly spreading economic havoc among global friends and foes while suffering little harm itself

It would be foolish for Trump to believe what happens in the world doesn’t affect the US. US companies do business worldwide. The Great Depression was worldwide.

The world is counting on us to get it together. How can we even begin to do that?

All the not-Republicans need to pick a leader. Now.

I want to be clear I’m not disagreeing with your point about it needing to be done. It does. There is zero chance for that to happen, there is nothing close to resembling solidarity among the non-maga Americans, that supposed ‘rugged individualism’ really became our Achilles heel, made us nice docile sheep for the upper class to rule

Sorry, did you misspell Iraq there?

Or is the article author unaware of the world’s perception of the US for the past 25 years?

The US was perceived as a bully that was occasionally acting out according to their selfish interests. Now they’re perceived as an unhinged, tantrum prone toddler with a fragile ego and power over a huge army with nuclear capability and no regard for consequences of their actions.

25 years? The majority of the Middle East, South America, and most of Asia — like 2/3’s of the worlds population — have known this for 50+ years.

Only the average untraveled normies in the developed world realized this recently. Hollywood and the manufacturing of consent from the media are mostly to blame (aka capitalist propaganda).

        Korea and Japan would disagree.

And the internet barely existed at that point, not every westerner in 2005 could have afforded to travel widely. The average western person would have gotten their general impression of the US from western media.
