It’s funny because a good percent of mainstream “art” is basically already focus grouped and market driven and not authentic human expression. “We” should have been pissed off at that too. We are already owned and living in a world that is not an authentic or genuine experience of humanity.

    "…but I laugh at America’s fear

Of a New World Order controllin’ the hemisphere

‘Cause my people been livin’ that for the past 500 years…"

    It’s already here.

What’s also funny is that’s the only thing that ai is good at imitating.
Formulaic, inhuman; art, music, and poetry.

It can make pop music but it can’t make punk rock

It’s designed to be the average of its inputs, thus being mediocre. If punk rock were the dominant form of music, it would make that; but then it wouldn’t be punk anymore

Yeah I guess that’s the point I was trying to get at. That criticism doesn’t mean much when there’s still a ton of creative stuff coming out of Hollywood and if you’re choosing to stay in that lane when we have access to a basically infinite amount of creative shit from other countries, that’s kind of on you.

Sure they are some unique movies, ussually by smaller studios, that take risks. But then you have disney producing slop of what they already did a million times.

Exactly. I’ve felt this way for a long time. When AI started to hit, I was honestly hoping people would just be using it to replace all of the wasted labor time making “corporate bullshit art” and instead corporations decided it should replace all art.

If there’s someone out there who would be offended by no longer having to make corporate bullshit art to instead spent that time making real art, I honestly don’t know how I’d respond to them.

““This is a function of capitalism” is a function of capitalism” is a function of capitalism.

Turns out stuff that can be done entirely in software is an easier problem to solve than anything involving robotics

It’s almost like advanced automation could free is from the burden of having to do shitty labor and enjoy the benefits of our grand achievements as a species; instead it’ll be used to maximize shareholder value and force us to do even shittier labor to scrape by. Thanks capitalism!

except the robots are doing all the jobs, too, and the humans are begging on the streets
