It’s kinda like how pizza is a vegetable.

It’s traditional. Medieval christians defined fish as “not meat” so they could eat it during fasting (along with finding other creative workarounds, like wrapping meat in dough so the all-seeing, all-knowing entity couldn’t see them eating meat (see Herrgottsbescheißerle)
Some of them also came up with creative definitions for “fish”, so they could eat
a nice roastsome humble fish on a Friday or during lent. (A beaver definitely is a fish, just look at it swim around in water all day, also it has a scaly tail, need any more evidence? Now shut up and eat yourroastfish.)

It’s the flesh of a fish, which is an animal. I therefore call it meat.
I wish the headline was more in line with the actual study. I’m glad at least the conclusion made it into the article:
“The Institute of Marine Research is clear that a significant increase in production in certain fjord systems could increase the risk of eutrophication locally, but that current production is well within nature’s carrying capacity. This provides a basis for strict, site-specific management, but does not document that current operations are destroying the fjords.”
Should be more like “fish farm growth must be strictly managed so that it doesn’t endanger the ecology of at risk fjords”
Sounds like a partially-solid (lol) plan chance to set up some aquaculture farms and use some of that poop for plants.
Maybe downstream seaweed farms!
