LLMs cannot write interesting stories practically by definition. Too much of what makes a story good stems from subjective experience.

You’ll notice the only storytelling excerpts touted by AI proponents are short and generic, lacking in characterization and dialogue.

Even a broken clock can be right twice a day if it’s analog and not a 24 hour clock or some other configuration. So, the actual proportion of broken clocks being right is very low, but it can still happen, and this is proof that it’s the same for humans

Sure, even a stopped clock is correct twice a day. Yet you’d never know when without an additional, functional clock.

    Writers should be worried.
They’ve hardly delivered anything creative since a long time.
Ironically they did the same thing AI does.
    Recycling ideas with new packaging.

That’s not the writers, man. That’s the bean counters saying we can’t risk anything and that funding writers has a bad ROI. Hollywood is being nickeled and dimed to death.

        For a great part, yes.
OTOH great and commercial aren’t mutually exclusive.
And haven’t seen much of that.

Great works require a populated writers room. Juniors, seniors, leads. Current writers developing new writers, new writers giving fresh ideas. The writers room doesn’t exist anymore. Juniors are replaced with AI, budgets only allow seniors, no more leads or leads with less experience.

IDK why they would’ve changed that.
Isn’t it a relatively small cost in the huge budgets?
Also, it took 13 years for the global population to grow by the last billion.
Standards of living have also gone up in general so their income and potential customers is much bigger.
So they could invest/spend even more.
