I’m not sure if any Sync team members read the posts on this community, but I figured I’d let you know that it’s a big enough issue to me that I’m going to stop using the app until it’s implemented. This is an otherwise good app, but combined scores misrepresent the overall sentiment of a post or comment and I think it has an overall negative impact on how people interact. Cheers.
There’s only one dev and he definitely reads posts here
check the status on GitHub, this was already asked. most likely there is an issue on GitHub for this.
you can also subscribe to the issue closure so that you get notified when this is implemented.
Thanks for the information!
Posts already have a percentage by them showing how much it’s been upvoted or downvoted, and that’s enough for me. I’m guessing you would just want the same for comments?
not for me? unless im missing something
That’s definitely odd. Here’s a pic of this post we’re talking on. You can see the percentage after the time it was posted. Maybe it’s something that comes with using a compact view?
ah i see that posts do, however comments do not.
Every post on my feed is at a 100%, bug.
Mine is pretty much always at 100% which is odd
Not really. Unlike Reddit, Lemmy doesn’t try to modify the number of upvotes to phase out newer posts, and also people around here generally seem to not downvote posts without a reason.
It’s a bug, same for all posts on mine
Nah. As a current happy user, I am ok with the way it is. Counter opinion.
I am happy with the way it works currently, but many apps have both ways of showing votes, I don’t think this is hard to implement, and as long as we have a toggle I’d say why not?
But I would like to see how many people share your worthless opinion, not just that your opinion is worthless.
Options are always better than no options.
especially whenever the opposing reason is “no thanks, not for me”
there are other apps that have this feature, and im glad it does. that and no tolerance for ads are large reasons i chose the app i have, sorry sync. <3
And yet your reasoning is, yes, thanks, for me.
I chose sync too, multiple times.
In situations like this, I’d rather see that my comment is at -4 because it has 12 upvotes and 16 down votes than wonder if it has 1 upvote and 5 downvotes
