I know the creator of a community can’t be removed as mod by the other mods but is there anything else? Or are all mods given the same permissions and responsibilities?

I think this will be up to the moderators to decide. Lemmy.world does not have any requirements for a hierarchy (as far as I know), but a well organized mod team is a god mod team! If you go with the “feel” & “flow” of the fediverse, then no-one is the boss!

Fair enough, hopefully everything remains that well maintained!

I am hopeful tbh. I think the nature of the platform itself almost tends to our better nature. We’ll see, I hope I’m not wrong. But people are crazy.

I think you’re right, this place tends to attract more good natured people. I haven’t had a single report from any of my communities yet which is great (though I don’t mod many large communities yet)

    From the Lemmy documentation

“Admins and moderators are organized in a hierarchy, where the user who is listed first has the power to remove admins or mods who are listed later.” Otherwise all the permissions are the same.
