So many problems can be traced back to capitalism.
I enjoyed the hell out of Mister Terrific Year One, but that was only 6 issues IIRC. May, 2025 to January, 2026. You’d think after the star turn in the Superman movie he’d get an ongoing.
The Terrifics comic led by Mister Terrific was excellent and incorporated Tom Strong’s multi-racial family about 1/2 way through, but ended up getting cancelled after 27? 28? issues due to poor sales.
The last few issues never even saw print, they were digital only. If you wanted a print copy you had to buy the last graphic novel collection.
The last time they tried a Steel book, it was hot garbage. Same for the most recent Cyborg solo book, 2023 to 2024.
Before Green Lantern Corps, Jo had her own book that was worth reading called “Far Sector”, but it was only a 12 issue run and after that (but before Corps) it was like DC didn’t know what to do with her. She’d pop up in the annual Pride books and that was about it.
Marilyn Moonlight has a KICK-ASS design. I’d love to know more, but so far she’s been limited to a c-list supporting character in the Superman titles, hardly present at all.

I’d also suggest the magazine sized “Other History of the DC Universe” which goes over a lot of overlooked minority characters.
“DC Comics chose to give a Confederate officer a series before a Black character. Not a good look,” says Black Comics Alliance member and content creator Ernie Carothers
Uhhhhhh…what??? I am so out of the loop here. DC has a comic celebrating a confederate??? So many questions. I guess the most pressing one would be: WHY???
I really hate this world.
Yes. That was in the 70s, so it’s completely relevant now, 50 years later.
In the article it mentions this was in the 1970s. Not sure why they’re trying to use it as an example of modern DC comics while also ignoring the current ongoing black led comics.
Jonah Hex, back in the 70s. Former Confederate.
I was just not buying that shit because it sucks.
Dude, have you read any absolute DC? Everything I’ve read has been at least all right. How do you know it sucks if you haven’t read it?
Personally I actually want to read about Sojourner, that Green Lantern rookie with the funky 80s glasses and big hair. She seems like she might be an interesting character, and from what I’ve read about her main story synopsis - she’s stationed in a different sector than the other human Lanterns, and she has to thwart a government conspiracy as a total outsider - it sounds like it would be a cool story regardless.
She’s the main character in the Absolute GL!
Far Sector! 12 issues! Good read. But after it was over, DC didn’t know what to do with her. She’d pop up in the annual DC Pride issue and that was it until Green Lantern Corps.
I’m just glad to see more lantern corps stories. I feel like they haven’t gotten a fair shake at the “superhero” craze after the Reynolds move flopped.
I tried Absolute Batman because everyone was hyping it up, but it got real cringey around the time Alfred described Batman as “Batman AF.”
There were some neat ideas, but the tone was so childishly edgelord that I couldn’t keep going, and I’ve been hesitant to try the rest of the line.
I enjoyed it, but it very much is targeting that sort of feeling.
Absolute Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter were stand outs for me!
What’s dc?
You spelled toboggan wrong.
Maybe I already got the correct spelling banned.
I wish I was as cool as you
