I guess it’s too late now
When using my work laptop, it’s surreal to right click and see the menu “lazy loading” it’s items.
Are you sure it is items?
Win 11 is absolute trash. Everything takes so long to load, when it was instant on Win 10.
I didn’t realise how bad it was until I noticed I had to wait for things to load, every single time, that I want to edit a text document in notepad++
We’ve still got the bug in notepad that doesn’t have proper fixed width fonts even when something like Consolas is selected.
Absolute trash.
This might work. I’ve done this for a separate issue. But if you uninstall notepad, the original windows 10 version is still left behind in C: \Windows\notepad.exe
Oh cool, I’ll take a look. Not sure I’ll have access to do that on the work computer but I’ll try. Cheers.
What the actual fuck. The only reason I’d ever used notepad was because of the fixed-width typefaces.
I know right? My current workflow if I need to use notepad, is open the file, to into the settings page, expand the font section, select a different font, close the settings page for it to apply the font, reopen the settings page, expand the font section, select Consolas font, close the settings page.
Every single time you open a file.
Your new workflow should be to install Sublime Text.
I have notepad++. I just meant thats the workflow if I have to use regular notepad.
If I had a choice I wouldn’t use Windows at all, but sometimes you just gotta work with what you have.
And sometimes you install Linux on your Microsoft Surface and life improves.
When must you use notepad with no other options?
Right click > Customize > Install Linux > Select disro > reboot > Profit
Billion dollar software company finally adding features that hobbyists added to Linux distros for free decades ago 🤡🤡🤡.
Only had thirty years to sort this out.
Windows v1 actually came out 41 years ago
And the dynamic context menu was a feature of Windows 95.
That’s 10 years of R&D they could have had before implementation.
