Americans don’t really have/believe in morals, only convenience, how could they understand what a good man is? How could they pick a good leader? And so they’ll keep getting swindled by those who actually understand American society and use its shortcomings to their advantage.

The skepticism around Platner isn’t just the libs or the DNC. Leftests I respect are skeptical of him too.

It’s hard not to notice that the people most willing to laugh off a Nazi tattoo are the same kind of people who might not have experience with fascist violence and oppression.

I think it’s weird that so many people who call themselves antifascist are not only blind to his faults but would ridicule anyone not identically credulous.

I think it’s actually the serious anti war leftists who will never get past the fact that he worked PMC in GWoT.

Without doing any actions that reflect the change before claiming it? No. If he was part of a leftist org, sure.

Like he was a member of Acadia Action, Maine People’s Alliance, or Voices of Frenchman bay? He stopped a polluting Norwegian fish farm from coming into his community.

Of the 4 you’ve listed, Acadia Action seems to be the only leftist community group, though they don’t have a lot of information about themselves. Happy to be proven wrong about this though.

He talks about increasing benefits for people in the military and increasing recruitment. That doesn’t sound like someone who is reflecting on the military in any way that aligns with my ideals.

I’d love to see people talk about reforming the military and ensuring better channels of reporting. He states he personally saw people target civilians, but I don’t see him campaigning about better whistleblower protections. Maybe I missed it because I’m not following it that closely, but he seems to wholly support the military and just be upset about fraud and waste and not about the raping and Geneva convention violations.

The Nazi tattoo in question here being a stylized skull I’ve never seen tattooed on an actual Nazi.

That pic evokes no emotion in me at all, if you had asked me “is this Nazi shit yes or no” I would have said “no”.

People made it sound like a totenkopf over a swastikaka…

The swastika is pretty cut and dry in the west. The double lightning bolts is a little more subtle but I would never doubt you knew the meaning.

          This is like laughable.

I find nothing funny about dog whistle white supremacist or Nazi symbols being brushed off because “it doesn’t look like any Nazi symbol I’ve ever seen before”. Yeah, well that’s the point.

Ah ok I can see if he was genuinely ignorant, and covered it up when finding out, that’s alright I would think

That’s my take, you find out what it is and cover it up, that’s a fair move.

What isn’t cool is all these apologists acting like the totenkopf isn’t an obvious Nazi symbol and it’s indistinguishable from any other skull or pirate flag. It takes 2 seconds to Google and we should all know the most obvious Nazi symbols to protect ourselves and our communities from these animals.

Yeah, just mean a cursory wiki and you can see the two are pretty well identical
