A newly obtained audio recording shows that Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. personally pressured a Libertarian congressional candidate in Iowa to abandon a competitive House race, urging him to step aside to protect Republican control of Congress.
The Washington Post obtained a recording of the 12-minute call in which Kennedy told Rick Stewart, the Libertarian candidate in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District, that he was acting as a “liaison” with the White House, and he warned that a Democratic takeover of the House would derail President Donald Trump’s agenda and suggested he could help Stewart if he exited the race.
“I can’t go into specifics because there’s legal prohibitions about that,” Kennedy told Stewart in the June 11 call. “If it’s something that you want to talk about, you know, you and I can talk about specifics.”
“Possibly”? I dunno, with the words they’ve posted, it sure sounds like quid pro quo - “you leave the race and we’ll make sure you’re nice and comfy away from politics.”
That’s kind of the deal that RFK Jr got from Trump. RFK dropped and he was rewarded with a cushy cabinet position despite having no qualifications for the position.
I’d even argue that his past heroin addiction should count as a DISqualification for being in charge of the nations health. While I’m all for reform and people bettering themselves, a history of that level of poor decision making should never be ignored. But this whole administration is filled with inept unqualified pieces of shit, so he fits right in.
All these miserable fuckers need prison time once the orange cancer is gone and we get a decent president. No olive branches. No reaching across the aisle. Fucking PRISON TIME.

Danielle Caputo of the Campaign Legal Center said federal officials should not be “tipping the scales, behind the scenes” by pushing candidates to withdraw, though she noted proving a Hatch Act violation could be difficult. Stanley Brand, a Penn State law fellow, said Kennedy could face exposure under separate criminal statutes barring officials from using their authority to interfere with elections or offering benefits in exchange for political activity.
Who is going to prosecute Kennedy for a Hatch Act violation? The DOJ is an executive branch organization. That’s the fundamental flaw with most laws passed by prior sessions of Congress that try to check the power of the Executive branch: there’s no functional mechanism of enforcement when the entire branch is hostile to the law. That’s the worst case scenario, and the one we’re in, and it’s the one none of these laws can handle.
The one thing I know about the hatch act is that nobody in Congress gives a shit about the hatch act.
