This doesn’t mean that AI doesn’t have downsides, it means usually that they want to stifle the competition or some other bullshit tactic.
Maybe the AI community could stop selling their services to militaries, arms manufacturers, genocidal states etc. Perhaps stop steamrolling over small communities, polluting the environment, and raising electricity bills. Perhaps focusing on not stealing every human created work in order to take away the creator’s livelihood.
Perhaps all these things would help stave off justified hatred.
