Sony’s decision to stop producing physical discs from 2028 has had gamers up in arms and brands trolling — and it’s only getting messier.
Talk about ownership. Digital games should be .iso or .mkv that have as much freedom as a disc. They should not be tied to any account. They should not expire. They should be transferable from the console to any media. There should be no network connection “dongle” in order to play a game or for the game to be able to run. And that should be the minimum requirement legal for a company be able to be digital only.
I’m not a gamer but I would think no sane person with human integrity would settle for less than what I said above. The same goes for music and movies and all digital product.
How did we even get to this point ☹️

The other options were easy enough to be acceptable to consumers.
Or there should be a mandatory for the seller for you to have the option to sell it. Through their platform or some other transfer of ownership. This needs to become legislation.
If you have paid for it, you own it.
