Valve just released Proton 11.0-1, a huge upgrade to their compatibility layer to run Windows games on SteamOS / Linux systems.

    Fixed controller hotplug not working for 8BitDo Ultimate 2C and other controllers that expose multiple HID devices.

    Huh. I just assumed some games needed the controller to be awake before launching, it’s awesome that they fixed this, I’ll have to test it later.

      I don’t have an 8bitdo controller but I experienced many games being quite picky on Windows, too.

      Oh, you accidentally had the sound set to your speakers instead of the head set? Too bad, well ignore that you switched the sound output. Oh, you connected/woke the controller after starting the game? Too bad. Won’t work. Etc.

      I experienced way less of this shit since I switched to Linux…

    I hope they can drop a fix for voice chat in wow. I’m not thinking blizzard will refactor that to be built properly.
