Green Jellö, originally know as. Forced to change names by Kraft. So Green Jellÿ was the name, but Green Jell is fine too, I guess. Maynard and Carey from Tool were both in the band as well, right around the formation of Tool.
I had no idea about the Tool connection. thank you!
TIL Over 1,000 members have been part of Green Jellÿ since its inception.
There was another connection i had thought I remembered but time has taken it away from me
Gwar.
Beefcake the Mighty is in at least one of the videos.
finally remembered, its cow god
Remember watching my brother’s VHS tape of their music videos growing up. Weird fact that I didn’t realize until later in life: they did the soundtrack to the SNES game Spiderman: Maximum Carnage.
Yeah, what a trip down memory lane. That game is excellent!
Saw these guys as a kid on a whim back when they were Green Jello at some grungy little club. Was a fun time - had someone impersonating Flea (I think) from Red Hot Chili Peppers doing nonsense on the stage. Never expected to ever think about them again.
Maynard James Keenans first hit song!
Holy shit. TIL!
For some reason this song has been in every karaoke catalog when I get dragged along by some friend and I always sing this.
It’s funny and there’s no singing in it. Slam dunk for 90s fans.
Haven’t seen this in years
funny, i was thinking about this song 8 hours ago
whoa hadn’t thought about this in a while haha, i miss videos
??? Bands still regularly make music videos. There are more places to watch music videos now than even before.
that’s the problem I guess? I dunno, before there was this gatekeeper of quality, for better or worse, mostly worse depending on who you were. It was more of a production, though I’m sure videos now probably capture the artist vision more if they are self made. I guess I just am not so interested anymore either as I don’t really care who makes the music so much as about the music itself.
Let me guess, you’re old like me? I’m pushing 50 and I have a similar knee-jerk reaction to a lot of modern media. Then I shake the dust off my butt and realize that there’s still worlds of new great creative shit that gets made every day.
Like, I’m a big fan of King Gizzard, and they just put out a new video. It’s a production for sure! Check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mp-HWukUDSE
Music videos are definitely still creative and interesting. The hard part is keeping yourself that way. :)
Not really, I’m busy making my own music
Loved this video as a kid. I have a puppy I call little one and I’ve been singing this song lately to her. Little one little one let me in
the bear song was my #1 listened song a couple of years ago
