Added Pic to show texture
I can’t help but see rows of moutains as I would if I were very high up (on the mount fuji for instance), so looking at the painting gave me some kind of vertigo even though it’s very horizontal… Well done.
Thanks. I thought of the mountains like you said as I was creating this, but that wasn’t quite my intention. I’m glad you see something that you connect to; sorry about the vertigo. I had the idea of the colored lines overlapping, straight on one side and the overlapping uneven. Different colors with lots of texture, so lots of paint.
What’s your inspiration with these? I’ve seen several of them, and they seem emotionally charged.
I get the inspiration of some of these from an idea that pops into my mind. Not the image of them, but for the ones I call “Colors” an idea of the lines (or rows), sometimes a particular color, or darker or brighter. Some I have an idea of a pattern or some disjointedness. I actually enjoy looking at them, especially closely, holding up to see how different they can look at different angles and in different light. Bright light from outside is a little different than indoor lighting.
That’s really cool. It’s always interesting to me yo learn the inspiration for works I enjoy, so thank you for sharing!
