If only it were for any of the actual crimes he’s committed and not made up or fringe bullshit.

An overly hopeful and coping portion of my brain wants to believe all these dipshits keep one-upping each other on impeachments that eventually you end up with some senator like “you wanna impeach Obama for sucking a dick? WELL FUCK YOU! We’re dragging Bush and Cheney’s asses in! That’ll fucking show you!”

This is my mental fanfic and masturbation material. Do not take it from me.

*Preemptively protecting my material by editing this to investigate instead of impeach since I don’t think you can impeach someone out of office. Continue not taking this from me

I don’t think you can impeach someone out of office

You can actually, but the Senate has to confirm it in a ⅔ vote, and even the Senate Republicans aren’t interested.

The House has impeached previously after resignation and the Senate voted that it had jurisdiction to try that impeachment.

      actual crimes he’s committed

Since the U.S. is amazing at letting crimes against humanity happen legally, has Biden’s crimes broken any actual US law?

He was selling influence via his son though right? And he’s on camera bragging about bribing Ukraine to drop its investigation into Hunter, though I don’t know if the US would consider that a crime.

The selling influence stuff is tenuous if not impossible to prove as it’s mostly political speculation and the republicans doing their best to try and find a boogeyman. Plus even if it would 100% true; then everyone in congress would be guilty of that, and there’s no way they would want to risk setting a precedent.

Could you link the Ukraine video though by any chance? That sounds interesting.

He was on camera bragging at a public event how he blackmailed the Ukrainian government to fire Burisma’s prosecutor, while his son was a board member. The emails and witness testimonies are pretty conclusive.

There’s plenty of evidence. The problem is 1. Lack of political will to actually do anything substantial about it and 2. This is merely a political cudgel for the elections. The Republicans are using the impeachment in a cynical way to scare their potential voters back in line, and to keep discussion around Biden’s corruption going. A trick they aptly learned from the Democrats.

After the elections, whoever loses will be crying how the election was stolen from them, and the cycle will begin anew.

Btw, this is exactly how Roman politics devolved during Julius Caesar’s time and how they ended up with the dissolution of the republic by Octavian.

Notice how that video makes zero mention of his son? AFAIK it was pretty well known that the US (as well as the EU) was pressuring Ukraine to get rid of corrupt officials. Right wing propaganda uses clips like the above to try and paint a totally different picture by claiming it pertains to whatever fantasy bs they’ve dreamed up, simply by posting the video alongside their bs text.

You do realize that the prosecutor was fired only a year and a half after that meeting with Biden right?

If Biden was fuming to get the guy fired then a year and a half seems like he took his sweet ass time.

Plus that prosecutor wasn’t even the one investigating Hunter, it was the guy that replaced the fired one! So why would Biden be fine with the new guy opening an investigation but not the old guy who was corrupt as hell?

No, his son was using his dad’s name to gain influence, but Biden had no involvement with those business deals. I’m not saying nepotism should be legal or that family members of political figures should be capable of benefiting from their relative, but there are no laws preventing this.

Crimes are by definition law breakers. So, provided that you’re saying that Biden committed some crime, then yes, they have broken some U.S. law.

Of course, I don’t believe Biden has committed any crimes during his presidency.

Tbf, the second definition of “crime” is “an action or activity that, although not illegal, is considered to be evil, shameful, or wrong.”

That’s not illegal if you give them back when asked, since your original possession of the documents is not illegal due to your position.

That’s why they didn’t arrest Pence, Obama, Biden, or dozens of other politicians and generals.

Trump on the other hand kept them and then lied to the FBI that he didn’t have them. What the hell did Trump think would happen?

Obama is the only one since Carter who didn’t have articles of impeachment filed… impeachment was on the table for Obama, they just sorta didn’t bother to fill out the forms in his case.

A detailed list would surely require declassifying every single DoD, CIA, etc. document of any sort related to any African nation. We’re only getting glimpses of fuckery on that continent as US capital panics over China making better and more substantial deals going forward.

But as far as out in the open, well, that depends if you accept the (US supported at one point) notion of “a nation’s laws which are grossly immoral can be overridden and actions taken under said laws deemed illegal by an international court” aka the Nuremberg trials of (far too few) top Nazis post-WWII.

I would include many actions Biden supports under that classification including, but not limited to: the continuation of the embargo against Cuba, continued support for Israel, continued support of Saudi Arabia, continued sanctions and no attempt to normalize relations with North Korea/DPRK, warmongering against China (maybe not a crime atm, but if/when some war starts because of it…), sanctions against the people of Russia generally, arming and supporting continued war in Ukraine instead of peace agreement, etc. Tired of listing shit. Haven’t even started in on domestic issues. Allowing the police to continue as they are is in itself a crime worthy of… a fair trial and just consequences :). For example he could stop cop city if he gave a shit so I hold him complicit personally for his inaction there and many other places. If you think he can’t do anything, refer to LBJ and how he forced integration in public schools. The feds can absolutely force states to stop doing dogshit racist murderous shit if they want to, he just doesn’t want to.

Yes every president is guilty basically upon stepping into office. Yes Biden didn’t do this all alone. Yes congress and scotus and countless others are guilty and complicit, but you asked for crimes of Biden and due to his position as POTUS (and I’ll kindly spare him the crimes he did in congress and as VP participated in) he gets to inherit all that stuff especially when a lot of it can be snapped away with an executive order or a phone call.

If you wanna play the liberal game of “uh, but, acktually, there isn’t a laaaaaw in the US” then have fun defending objectively evil, immoral and, if tried internationally, criminal shit only allowed because of the position of the US geopolitically (for now). (And just to head off anything bad faith and really weird: every single living president (and honestly all the presidents…) could and should face criminal courts. Their entire administrations, entire congresses with few exceptions… this is not “just Biden,” the entire US government is a bunch of criminals doing crimes but stamping them with “this is legal!” That didn’t work for the Nazis, but I guess they lost. American leaders will face their own reckoning one day, god willing.)

continuation of the embargo against Cuba, continued support for Israel, continued support of Saudi Arabia

That’s active participation in two ongoing genocides and the sanctions generally are considered by many people crime against humanity since they hit the population. And about the warmongering, let me remind you what Joachim von Ribbentrop was hanged for.

This is what happens when the Base of a party has been fed propaganda for so long that that they’ve gone off the deep end and can’t be contained. Except for complete morons like MTG, the vast majority of these elected politicians know this is utterly pointless, except that they are calling for impeachment because their Base wants revenge for what Dems did to Trump.

I like how this only serves to galvanise both of the supporter groups (both of which will blame leftists for whichever outcome) over basically nothing, and yet will have no actual impact no matter how it’s resolved. I guess it’s not an election year and there are barely any debates, so they need to get eyeballs on newscorp ads somehow.

“Oh wow, they replaced Joe Biden with Joe Biden’s hand-picked Vice President. It’s basically a whole new country!”

E: To be fair, the democrats might actually have a better chance at the next election if they drop Biden (dead) because of this. Which means they’ll fight tooth and nail for the old geezer because if they win too much they might have to keep their promises.

I mean Biden sucks, but please don’t make Kamala Harris president, I can’t stand hearing her speak. At least Biden is fun to laugh at, Harris, on the other hand is just boring and cringe. Remember her Taiwan clip? Basically went like this : “China is a large country. Taiwan is a much smaller island and is located close to China. China is more powerful than Taiwan. They don’t treat them fair and that is basically a bad thing.” Not a direct quote but I’m embarrassingly close to the actual words she said
