Iraq’s prime minister has announced a probe into cross-border smuggling to Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

Ali al-Zaidi said he was setting up a “high-level committee” in coordination with the Syrian government to investigate the transport of “advanced weapons” from Iraq through Syria to the Iran-backed group.

Iraq’s Joint Operations Command (JOC), which answers directly to the prime minister, said that it would “hold those responsible for any shortcomings accountable, in a manner that ensures the security and stability of the shared border and prevents any attempts to undermine national security.”

Earlier on Thursday, the state news agency Sana reported that Syrian security forces had thwarted an attempt to smuggle in a shipment of advanced weapons and missiles through the Syrian-Iraqi borders.

The shipment was intended to be delivered to Hezbollah, according to an interior ministry source cited by Sana.

Syrians hate Iranian proxies just as much as Israel. There’s a reason why when the new government took over, the first thing they did was kick out the Iranian proxies in the country along side the Russian troops.

Hezbollah, specifically, is responsible for killing tens of thousands of Syrians during the civil war. Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria are united in their hatred for Iranian imperialism and their desire to squeeze them out of their country.

Al Sharaa still wants the territory that Israel took back, but he’s also not stupid. He knows Syria can’t realistically take on Israel in its current form, but he does have the opportunity to take get rid another one of Syria’s big enemies, and he’s not going to pass up such a rare opportunity.

Hezbollah entered the war do defend the weapons routes necessary to fight the genocidal settler colonial state of israel who now is openly talk about greater israel. El sharaa will never get back the territories occupied by israel and act as a security guard for israel like the PA is foing in the west bank. Just fuck of from here zionazi.

The usa also killed 100k japanese during world war 2 in a single day during The Tokyo Firebombing. Would you have supported the usa stopping from fighting nazi germany after that

Bro you’re talking out of your ass. The one and only thing you’re right about is that Al Sharaa is a Turkish puppet and a bad guy in his own right, but that’s about it. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY in Syria thinks positively of Hezbollah. Everyone in the region knows that they’re a Iranian terrorist proxy that’s only out to serve their master’s interests, and their actions show as much. They killed tens of thousands of Syrians to defend the genocidal tyrant because Iran ordered them to. Iran knew that if their puppet in Syria was gone, then they would lose their land route to send supplies to their proxies in Lebanon and Syria via Iraq. Iran is an imperialist parasite just like Israel in the region, and Hezbollah is a product of that imperialism. You won’t find a single Syrian that would support either Assad or Hezbollah.

It is a fact that hezbollah kicked out israel of the land in 2000. Why don’t you use the word terrorism about Israel? Every single militia killed civilians in this civil war but you are stuck with Hezbollah because you are a nasty Zionist who pretend not to be one. Iran and Hezbollah did not ethnically cleansed part of another another population then build colonies it and continued torturing and raping people in the land they colonized . There is no comparison between Israel and Iran and Hezbollah. If you really wanted Hezbollah to disappear and you really believed Israel is an enemy you would have supported ending israeli colonization without making all those bullshit arguments. Iran is a country who collaborate with non state allies created because of israel colonization and the usa arming it to defend their national security and the security of the whole region

Fuck Israel, they are terrorists and I never said otherwise. You’re just reek of desperation trying to find any way possible to simp for and defend Hezbollah because it’s reality is starting to set in for you that Iran is not the magical hereos that you think they are. Both the theocracy and their proxies universally hated in the Middle East because of just how much evil shit they’ve done.

Keep in mind, this post is about how Iraq and Syria are coordinating to cut off supply routes to Iranian terrorist proxy groups in hopes of squeezing out those evil vermin from their countries. Israel is a vermin just like Iran, but it’s irrelevant to the post. You keep circling back to it like a lost child because you can’t think of a way to defend these terrorist groups on their own merits. Peace in the middle cannot be found unless the regimes in Iran and Israel are shipped off into the sun never to return.

Iranian proxies behave and operate like ISIS and they’re universally hated in the Arab world. Nobody in my home country of Iraq likes them. They are THE reason why Iraq is so corrupt, dangerous, and unstable. People see them just as harmful to country as the US invasion in 2003, except they never left. The same is true for Lebanon and Syria.

All 3 countries have a very rare opportunity to squeeze the Iranian proxies out of their lands for good, and you bet that all 3 are going to bounce on that chance. These countries see Iran as a foreign occupier and imperialist meddler like Israel, Russia, or the US, and they’re not wrong.

Fuck off . Jabhat el Nusra the sharaa militia was part of isis and many of his fighters are from other countries like Tunisia so it’s so funny how you complain about Iranian allies that are made of citizens of those countries .

They’re not allies, they’re terrorist proxies. For the record, Syrians are not fond Al Sharaa either because he’s a former Al Qaeda member. But in the eyes of the people ISIS, Israel, and Iranian proxies are in the same tier of evil.

He has some disagreement with the isis terrorists so he created his own terrorist group. Hezbollah is resistance group that pushed israel out of Lebanon in 2000, without them there would be colonizers in colonies in Lebanon . No, in the eyes of people a colonizer and genocidal power is the ultimate evil .

Only 11% of Lebanese view Hezbollah’s military operations against Israel as acts of terrorism while 78% of the Lebanese population categorize Israel’s military actions as acts of terrorism yet you dumb disguised Zionist consider Hezbollah a terrorist group but never use the word for israel

The only people who think positively of Hezbollah are the Shia Lebanese in the south because they hate the other sects in the country and deranged Westerners who know NOTHING about any of the countries there outside of the propaganda they consume. I’ve actually lived in Syria, I’ve lived in Iraq. I lived through a lot of these events. Nobody thinks Hezbollah is a resistance group, nobody thinks they’re heroes, nobody thinks they’re saviors, especially in Syria. Syrians regardless of their religion and ethnicity see Hezbollah as the terrorist proxy group that they are. They did just as much damage to the country as ISIS did. They killed Syrians, they destroyed Syrian cities, they supported Bashar Al Assad, and they scarred the country to serve Iran’s interests. They are just as hated in Syria as Israel.

You can’t throw all the tantrums you won’t, but you can’t wish a delusional reality into existence by calling anything and everything zionist. Syria is a country with many enemies who all seek to keep it weak and subvariant. Israel, America, Russia, Turkey, and Iran is in that mix of imperialist powers. Syrians hate all the imperialists and their puppets, and it just so happens that Hezbollah is Iran’s flagship terrorist group in the region that was utilized against the Syrian people. Nothing is more disgusting, more ignorant, more pathetic than so called “humanitarian” leftists making it their life mission to suck off a literal terrorist group that helps kill tens of thousands of innocent people and exists solely to be the imperialist arm of foreign state because it plays into their fantasy coalition against Israel. Fuck Israel, fuck Iran, and fuck all the imperialist powers who seek to destroy Syria.
